To Enhance Your Services, the Certified Nursing Assistant:
  • Greets each patient or hospital staff member with a welcoming smile.
  • Knowledgeable in electronic patient information systems to include: EPIC, MediTech,Gerner, etc.
  • Knocks on patient’s door and announces name/title before entering patient room.
  • Explains to the patient as to what they are going to do before physically moving the patient.
  • Assists patient with activities of daily living (ADLs) to include bathing, grooming, dressing, etc.
  • Takes and records vital sign information.
  • Answers patient calls for assistance.
  • Cleans and dresses patient wounds.
  • Assists with turning or repositioning patients.
  • Assists with maintaining the cleanliness of the patient’s room.
  • Changes bed linen and maintains patient room supplies as directed by facility guidelines.
  • Serves as a liaison between the patient and facility medical staff.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certified, which provides the tools needed to appropriately monitor and interact with challenging patients that require one-on-one observations.
  • CPR-certified.
  • Provides proof of succesful completion of an accredited CNA program.
